Getting ready for a howling Halloween party this year? Spruce up your party this year with some icky, but yummy party food. Here are some fun food ideas for your ghostly Halloween party:

Snot cubes

Refrigerate yellow and green Jello (any flavors) in ice cube trays. Serve chilled.

Worms in snot

Make snot cubes, as directed above, out of Jello. Insert gummy worms in each cube of Jello then refrigerate. Serve chilled.

Bad apples

Using a small, sharp knife cut a small, round hole in one side of the top of an apple. Insert a gummy worm inside the hole. Create display of “bad apples” in a wooden bucket.

Monster Mash

In a large bowl, combine the following ingredients:

* 10 cups popcorn

* 1 pound plain M&M’s

* 1-14 oz. jar dry roasted peanuts

* 1 cup raisins (optional)

* 1 cup Reece’s pieces (found in baking isle by chocolate chips)

Bowl of Brains

Scramble several eggs. To get the gray brain color, mix in green, red, and blue food coloring as you beat the eggs before cooking them.

There are limitless ideas to the fun you can have at a Halloween party. Over the years, Halloween has grown into a sophisticated, adult celebration. Return to the fun kids had years ago with these basic but fun Halloween party ideas for kids.

Apple bob – Fill a large tub with water and apples. Let kids take turns bobbing for apples.

Costume contest – Once all your guests arrive at the party, take a vote on the best and scariest costumes. Add as many categories to your list as you want and hand out a grand prize to the best costume.

Pin the nose on Jack ‘o Lantern – This is a spin-off version of the all-time favorite game among children. Make a huge Jack ‘o Lantern, leaving off his nose. Let kids take turns being blindfolded and pin (or tape) the nose on Jack.

Pumpkin carving contest – Hold a pumpkin carving contest. See who can carve the funniest or silliest face into a pumpkin.

Make a mask – Give younger kids at your Halloween party construction paper, round-ended scissors, markers and glue. Let them make their own face masks for the party. Punch a hole in both sides of the mask and tie string or tiny elastic on the mask.

Guess how many seeds – Place counted pumpkin seeds in a large bowl or jar. Each party guest takes turns guessing how many pumpkin seeds there are. Whoever guesses closest to the correct numbers wins a prize.

Pumpkin seed spitting contest – Cut the top off a large pumpkin and remove the inside meat and seeds. Give each kid five seeds and see how many seeds they can spit into the pumpkin from a distance.

Buggy Ice Cubes

Insert gummy worms or raisins (for bugs) in ice trays with water and freeze. Insert frozen buggy ice cubes in your bowl of party punch.

Dirt Cake
20 ounce package of Oreo cookies
8 ounce package of cream cheese
1/4 cup margarine, softened
1/3 cup powdered sugar
2 packages (3 ounces) chocolate pudding
12 ounce package of whipped topping

Crush the cookies in a food processor. You can also put the cookies in a couple of large bags and crush them with a rolling pin or a meat mallet. Prepare the pudding according to the package directions. In a large bowl, mix the cream cheese, margarine, and sugar together. Add in the pudding and mix well. Add in the whipped topping. In a square 8 x 8-inch pan, layer the cookie crumbs and the pudding mixture, making sure to end with the cookie crumbs on top. Push some gummy worms into the cake mixture partway and put others on top of the cake. For added Halloween fun, you can put small plastic black spiders and other plastic bugs on the cake. If you do this, just make sure to warn your guests that the bugs are not edible! If you want to make it into a Halloween graveyard cake, break a graham cracker into fourths and frost the pieces with white or gray icing. With black icing, write “RIP”, the names of some of your party guests, etc onto the frosted graham crackers. Push the finished “gravestones” partway into the cake. Candy pumpkins can also make easy and fun decorative accents for this Halloween cake. (Be sure to store this cake in the refrigerator.)

Black Cat Cookies
1 cup crunchy peanut butter
1/3 cup water
2 eggs
1 package chocolate cake mix
M & M’s or candy corn
Red hots

In a medium bowl, mix the peanut butter, eggs, and water together. Slowly add in the cake mix and mix well. Roll the dough into1-inch balls and flatten them. Pinch two ears into the top of each cookie. Add the M&M’s or the candy corn for the eyes and use a red hot for the nose. Press a fork into the dough on each side of the cat’s “face” to form the whiskers. Bake in a 375 degree oven for 8 to 10 minutes. A tasty, fun, and easy Halloween treat.

Halloween has always been a favorite time of year for me. Not only is it my birthday, but the air is clean and crisp, the leaves have turned colors and it’s just a very pretty time of year.

I’d like to share some fun Halloween ideas and recipes with you:

Halloween cookie cutters are a must. You can use these cookie cutters on bread to make Halloween sandwiches. Kids love jack-o-lantern shaped sandwiches. You can spread their favorite sandwich topping on the bread once it’s cut.

Purchase M&M’s from a store that sells specific colors. Buy orange and green M&M’s and then use them in your favorite chocolate chip cookie recipe substituting the M&M’s for the chocolate chips.

You can also put those same M&M’s in your favorite rice krispy treat recipe. It’s amazing how these two colors transform recipes into Halloween recipes.

Look for mini cookie cutters. They can often be found in kitchen specialty shops. If you find pumpkin mini cookie cutters, these work great on cheese. Buy sliced cheese. Cut the cheese with the mini cookie cutters and then put the slice of round cheese on a Ritz cracker.

Prepare your favorite brownie recipe and then top with candy corn pieces.

Make hamburgers and use your cookie cutters on full size slices of cheese. Serve open faced so that the pumpkin or ghost shaped cheese is on top.

Many stores sell spinach pasta. Green pasta with red sauce is very Halloween looking to kids.
Make english muffin pizzas. Add sauce and cheese and then cover with pepperoni slices. Use pineapple chunks to make eyes, nose and mouth.

What would Halloween be without pumpkin flavored items? Here are a few pumpkin recipes for you:

Pumpkin Dip

2 8-ounce packages cream cheese, softened

1 large 30-ounce can of pumpkin

4 cups powdered sugar

2 teaspoons cinnamon

2 teaspoons ginger

Mix everything together and serve. Kids love to dip both fruit and cookies into this dip.

And what about pumpkin muffins? I love pumpkin muffins warmed with butter on them:

Pumpkin Muffins

3 1/3 cups flour

3 cups sugar

2 teaspoons baking soda

1 1/2 teaspoons salt

1 teaspoon cinnamon

1 teaspoon nutmeg

1/4 teaspoon ground ginger

1 cup oil

4 eggs

2/3 cup water

2 cups pumpkin

Mix all dry ingredients together in a bowl. Add the remaining ingredients and mix. Pour into muffin tins. Batter will rise, so only fill the muffin tins 2/3 of the way full. Bake at 350 degrees for about 20 minutes.
Decorating your table can be fun also. Use a combination of blacks and oranges. Use cat or witch shaped bowls. I have a friend who owns plates, creamers and tea pots in the shape of cats. You can also sprinkle your M&M’s and candy corn on the table. The kids can eat the decorations.

Enjoy Halloween with your kids and their friends at home with all of the above treats and ideas.

If you really want to scare your guests, and to make your food look really gross, you should try out these fun, but very simple gross recipes for Halloween.

First, you can start with something you can serve as a snack. Boogers on a Stick look really gross and they are quite simple to make. You need 8 ounce of Jar cheese whiz, 3 or 4 drops of green food coloring and pretzel sticks. First you melt the cheese in the microwave oven and then put the cheese to cool slightly in the jar. Than carefully stir in the food coloring adding just the right amount to make your cheese turn green. Really gross, and than you simply dip the pretzel sticks in the cheese. You will need to repeat the process a couple of times, for the cheese to stick to the pretzel. When it comes to a boogerish size, you’re done.

Next what you can serve as a drink is Vampire’s Blood Shake, really spooky.

You need two cups of plain yogurt, a teaspoon of vanilla extract, one package of frozen strawberries or raspberries, ice cubes and a one pint strawberry ice cream. First you mix yogurt, vanilla and berries in the blender. Than you take tall glasses and pour over the ice cubes, and at the top put a large spoonful of strawberry ice cream.

As a main course you can serve some brain cell and fluid. This is one of the best gross recipes for Halloween. By far the best Halloween dish. (Ready to puke yet? ) For this meal you need one package of Blueberry Jello, that is brain fluid, one carton small curd of cottage cheese, that is brain matter, one can of blueberries in heavy syrup and one bottle of food coloring. First what you need to do is make jello and let it chill, while you are preparing for the rest. You place cheese into one bowl, drain the syrup from blueberries, and add berries to the cheese carefully mixing the two. At the end, you just add the food coloring. To serve this dish, first you need to put a couple of tablespoons of jello on a plate and then pour some blueberry syrup on it. Than add cheese mixed together with blueberries on the top.

After this all you need is some peeled grapes with a raisin stuck into the wide side of each one, and some dried blood popcorns. First you pop the Popcorns, melt some butter, pour it over the popcorns, and then sprinkle it with chili powder. Happy Halloween devouring… I hope you enjoyed this edition of the top 5 Gross recipes for Halloween!

It is often challenging to find easy Halloween recipes for makeup. Each year, millions of people go online to find Halloween makeup recipes that they can use to create their own unique look. It is no surprise considering that the average bottle of fake blood costs nearly $4.00! While this may seem like a good price to many, these are often sold in small bottles and do not go very far – especially if more than one person is making use of the product.

Here, I will share with you a few easy Halloween recipes for makeup. If you are looking to be the talk of the party this year, you may find these recipes to be extremely beneficial. Not only can you use the items that you create for yourself, you can also create these items in bulk and make a nice little profit by selling them to friends, coworkers, family members, and even on popular auction type websites, like eBay!

Since we are on the topic of fake blood, we will go with this recipe first. This is actually one of the most popular easy Halloween recipes among most individuals looking to create their own makeup for this festive holiday. Now, you will need to gather a few items in order to succeed in this. First, some measuring spoons. Then, you will need a bowl and some containers to place the completed creation in.

Now, you will want to take approximately two tablespoons of water, about five tablespoons of corn syrup that is considered to be white, a few drops of food coloring that is blue, approximately ten drops of yellow coloring designed for food, and about seventy drops of red food coloring.

Now, take all of the items and mix them together – apart from the corn syrup. Once all the items have been mixed, you should slowly stir in the corn syrup until the desired thickness is achieved.

Many individuals wish to create a base face paint when creating their Halloween look. One of the most common colors when it comes to creating the perfect Halloween costume is Black and green. There are many very easy Halloween recipes for makeup that will be used for a base.

The first thing that you will need is the color that you want to use in the form of food coloring. Next, simply gather up about two tablespoons of cornstarch. You will then need about one teaspoon of shortening used for cooking that is solid. Next, mix the cornstarch and the shortening. You should then add food coloring until the color you desire is achieved. See? It is very simple to make your own Halloween makeup!
