well maybe you can purchase a poster board or use card board draw something unique then cut it out trace it to the pumpkin and carve… do something like the initials of your favorite football team…etc…. hope that gives you an idea

I f you are a good artist you could do a picture of your house that you live in or your town if you have a very large pumpking.
Or maybe a portrait of yourself or kids I like when people do pumpkins with dots to do the picture instead of big slices out.
What about a clock that is pointing to midnight? That would be fairly easy.

I have used SpookMaster Pumpkin Carving Patterns for years. They’re outstanding! I highly recommend a subscription. It’s relatively inexpensive…especially given the quantity of patterns you have to choose. PumpkinGlow.com also has terrific patterns…and check out The Pumpkin Wizard, too. I have created a jack-o’-lantern wall as a part of my Halloween yard haunt and this year I will expand the number of jack-o’-lanterns from 65 to 100 [luckily I have fall break next week so that I can accomplish this daunting task]. Because I use “Funkins” in my display, I can reuse the ones I have carved in previous years and simply add to what I have saved. Check out the links I’ve supplied.

Also, last year we carved a watermelon instead of a pumpkin, that went down pretty well
